#Slurpingitalian Part 1 was a great success last month on the 18th February, huge thanks from us both to all of you that tuned into the Instagram live feed. We are super chuffed with our initial slurping!

We thought we would quietly introduce you to the shirts…didn’t want to scare anyone at the first event!

Lee and myself have sourced the wines (AN AMAZING DEAL TOO) from independent wine merchant HAYWINES who are based in Ledbury in my own county of Worcestershire. They import these wines directly themselves from Italy, they also have over 1,200 wines, whiskies, spirits, liqueurs, beers, ciders and perries, so plenty of choice and they provide an excellent online service for delivery country wide.

The next tasting is from the wine area of Oltropò Pavese in the north of Italy.

The area of Oltrepò Pavese is triangular territory in southern Lombardia, wedged between Piemonte, Liguria and Emilia Romagna. It is home to approximately 12,000 hectares of vineyards. I wont go into more detail about the area as you need to drop into the INSTAGRAM LIVE on the 23rd March 7pm UK time to find out more.

The wines are from : La Piotta and they are all ORGANIC and VEGAN too.

“Misunderstanding”

PET NAT, RIESLING ITALICO FRIZZANTE, Make sure you have a bottle opener as it has a crown cap! NOTE: THIS IS NOT LIKE NORMAL RIESLING, NOR DOES IT TASTE LIKE IT.

OLD VINE PINOT GRIGIO “PIOTA”
FROM 1930 VINEYARD

“Pinot Grigio” I hear you say….. “have you lost your mind during lockdown” , NOPE this is fabulous PG, the vines from 1930, they still have 9 rows that were planted in 1930 yep that’s 91 years ago! Max production per year as these are now low yield is 1000 bottles approx.

The Riesling Italico is just bonkers, PET NAT (will explain more on the night) Frizzante as opposed to full sparkling (ok, to describe Frizzante – Perrier Water is full FIZZ, San Pellegrino Italian sparkling is much lighter small bubbles) Taste it and find out for yourselves.

Croatina – 100% Never had this RED? Here is your bargain opportunity, It’s delicious.
